The rates of bullying have received unpleasant dimensions, thereby it afflicts society to a large extent. At least 1 000 000 children in the world are being bullied every week inside and outside the school environment.

These children are at risk of developing depression, fears, stress, anger, social anxiety and poor school performance. With 70% of young people have experienced some form of bullying at a certain point in their life, immediate intervention is considered to be necessary for combating bullying.

Kepaky begun its action around this subject with the presentation of the Bullying Behaviour in schools by Dr. Olga Solomontos-Kountouri, PhD in Psychology at the University of Neapolis.

In October 2017, Kepaky participated in the campaign against bullying, within the context of the International Football People campaign of Fare Network, which aims at tackling all barriers that exclude people and communities and which is organised every October with more than 100 000 participants.

Our Foundation, with an interactive presentation from its Educational Psychologist and with the very important presence of the football players of AEL, who are role models for young people, promotes messages against social exclusion and discrimination, aiming at the endorsement of unity and respect towards everyone; because diversity should be appreciated and embraced by everyone!

Furthermore, with the aim to develop a feeling of tolerance and respect at the school environment, or other environment, KEPAKY and AEL joined their powers against bullying and discrimination. In this context, interactive presentations are being held in schools by the Psychologist of the Foundation, with the participation of the football players of AEL. The latter are promoting the power of unity, which originates from sports and are also sharing their experiences and thoughts around bullying with the students. With the ultimate goal of reinforcing our presence in schools and raising awareness on young people’s bullying, we created brochures and posters on the issue, for which we received funding from the Youth Board of Cyprus and its Youth Initiatives Project
