Many people are putting their life in danger due to the lack of appropriate free pavements, while others are isolating themselves, being dependent on others because of the lack of accessibility.
For this reason, the Foundation has prepared a short film under the title “Accessibility to the city for everyone”. The short film was created within a raising awareness campaign on the accessibility to the city.
Within the frame of the campaign, Kepaky organised a walk in the Limassol city center, in which the European Social Forum of Cyprus, the Cyprus Paraplegics Association and many volunteers from various social groups, such as actors, senior citizens, mothers with baby strolls, people with motor problems, as well as a representative from the Limassol Municipality.
The aim was to identify the issues that several groups of people/“blocked” people face during a day out and which are related to disabled ramps, accessibility to the pavements and the public toilets and the disabled parking spaces. During the walk, flyers were also distributed for raising awareness on the subject. The aim of this initiative is to send a message of change and improvement of our lifestyle and the promotion of a friendly environment towards all people, which depends from the competent authorities, as well as from each one of us separately.
